The History Educators International Research Network [HEIRNET] brings together colleagues from around the world interested in History’s civilising, cultural, educational, moral, social, political and citizenship roles.

HEIRNET is a small, informal friendly association that believes in history’s crucial role in educating for a democratic future that depends upon understanding the past.

The HEIRNET website:

  • holds an annual conference: in 2023 we convene in Stockholm, Sweden from Thursday 31st August to Saturday, 2nd September
  • promotes ONLINE HEIRNET KEYNOTE lectures and presentations
  • supports the international peer reviewed History Education Research Journal [HERJ]

  • hosts webinars, workshops and publishes articles, reports, national and other curricula, programmes of study, schemes of work, lesson plans, resources
