The History Educators International Research Network [HEIRNET] brings together colleagues from around the world interested in History’s civilising, cultural, educational, moral, social, political and citizenship roles.

HEIRNET annually hosts an international conference. In 2020 we convene at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam, The Netherlands from Wednesday 26th August to Friday 28th August

Amsterdam, the Venice of the North, is a cosmopolitan city with a window on the world rooted in its past. Culturally, globally and historically it is a perfect HEIRNET venue

On its website HEIRNET:

  • publishes articles, reports, national and other curricula, programmes of study, schemes of work, lesson plans, resources and other materials

  • supports the international peer-reviewed History Education Research Journal [HERJ]

  • has an up to date news and social media section
